Code Blue Computing which is headquartered in Broomfield, Colorado has created a seminar for parents that is called Cyber Security- What Every Parent Should Know.
Company owners Jeri and William Morgan are parents to 4 Year old twins so being active in the Broomfield community is important to them and they are especially sensitive to the needs of families.
Children can mistakenly believe that when they are sitting in front of their computer screen that they are safe, protected, and anonymous. Children are by nature curious and trusting. These traits can quickly lead them into troublesome situations online. As parents, we need to take an active role to protect our kids in the constantly evolving world of technology.
Some of the potential land mines we can run into is social media and cyber bullying, the prevalence of not just computers but all devices such as tablets and cell phones, unprotected home networks, and the latest trend…. live video broadcasts such as Periscope and Meerkat.
To protect our kids we need to put controls into place on the computer itself but also where, when, and how they can access technology.
Over the past few years it has become more and more evident that there is a gap between what can be done and what is being home in residences throughout North Metro Denver such as Broomfield. As an organization, Code Blue routinely finds holes in cyber security either in the home they have been dispatched to or inadvertently other homes within the same subdivision.
Code Blue Computing has helped over 2000 customers since 2010 and routinely assists families in the Broomfield area with creating a Cyber Security plan for their home and to protect their kids.
At the rate that technology is advancing parents need to be informed, vigilant, and aware in order to protect their children both online and offline.
The first Cyber Security-What Ever Parent Should Know seminar will be held at Code Blue Computing’s Offices at 80 Garden Center in Broomfield.
On the day of the seminar enter in Building A (faces towards Walgreens) follow the hallways to the left all the way around to the Breakroom. The seminar will be help in the large conference room which is the second door on the right in the break room.
